Last week was a very difficult week for many people in the parish because sadly we had the funerals of little Matthew (aged 4) and Catherine, a young mum with three children in our schools. Both in different ways were well known to the community. Both funerals took place on Friday and there must have been over eight hundred people in church that day in the morning or in the afternoon.
It was a time when I was very conscious of God's presence amongst us and that He carried us as a community through what would otherwise have been an impossible day. There are times when we have to rely totally on God and place everything into His hands so the more we try and do that on a daily basis the more it will come naturally to us in a time of crisis. It is also important that when we have placed everything into God's hands then we remember to thank Him as well for being with us and carrying us.
With that in mind I thought it would be good for us to remember the 'Footprints' story and try and apply it to our own lives putting our trust in God and remembering to thank Him for His presence amongst us: llerrah.com/footprints
